CHAPTER TEN
The wedding plans were coming along.
Dylan, at his motherâs insistence, invited Liza to join them for dinner Friday evening. Roger was there too. With only two weeks until the wedding, they had to nail down the remaining wedding details.
Liza had the wedding dress under control and assured everyone it would be ready in time. Roger said he had a good friend whoâd offered them a semi-private room for the reception and a deep discount on food. Another big item checked off the list.
His mother said she would personally invite people since there was no time to mail invitations. She was also picking out her bouquet and ordering a cake. Three more items taken care of.
Dylan insisted he would decorate the chapel. He had absolutely no idea what that would entail, but he was hoping Liza would point him in the right direction.
And lastly, Roger said he would take care of arrangements for their wedding night. When Dylanâs mother insisted they should save their money for their trip, Roger refused to hear it. He told her they were only having one wedding, and he wanted it to be memorable for her.
Dylan was relieved that all of the details were worked out. Did they miss some smaller details? Yes. But his mother said they werenât important. Having the people they loved together to witness their vows was all that mattered to her. He couldnât remember her ever looking so happy.
Saturday morning, he sat at his desktop computer and typed. He had the beginning of an idea for Lizaâs website. He worked all morning and into the afternoon. The only breaks heâd taken were to walk Rascal to the nearby park so his four-legged friend could stretch his legs. Rascal had a lot of energy, and if Dylan didnât play with him daily, Rascal ended up getting in trouble.
With Christmas not far off, there was a definite nip in the air. And so Dylan had opted for a sweatshirt and jeans that day. It wasnât like he would be going any place important. He had a website that needed his full attention.
Heâd asked Liza just enough questions on the drive back from the chapel to get him going in the right direction. She wanted a blog, not to actually write posts but rather to highlight new dresses and sales. He could do that.
But he didnât have a firm handle on the layout she wanted. He was going to pick a color scheme and see if it worked for her. The further he got into the project, the more he needed her input. There was also the potential for a newsletter sign-up. He wondered if this was something sheâd consider.
He jotted down some questions for her. He didnât want to forget anything when he talked to her. When he felt that he had enough sorted, he called Liza.
âHey, Dylan, if youâre calling to see if I have the dress done yet, the answer would be a definite no.â
âActually, I didnât call about that. I wanted to see if you had some time to sit down and go over the details for the website.
